About LinkBacksSo I'm running on 4.2.7 (didn't think before I updated...) and I wanna jailbreak it. I downloaded the "ipsw" files for 4.2.7 & tried 4.2.6 (thinking I could just downgrade and use greenpoison).. problem is, when I go to view these files, they downloaded as compressed zip folders.. whether or not I unzip them, I still can't seem to find ANY file ending with ".ipsw" to direct snowbreeze, or even itunes to go to.. A bunch of misc files show up (.img , .dmg , etc)..
Any suggestions on why the ipsw file isn't showing up?
I'm running on Windows XP (not my choice.... ha stuck @ grandpa's for a couple weeks)

Hey, you must be using IE to download ipsw files. It always download it as a zip file. Anyway you just have to rename the file and change the extension to *.ipsw instead of *.zip, that's all. Don't unzip the files, just change the extension. Enjoy

Yeah, just change the extention of the file.

probably winrar recognises the .ipsw as a winrar file... dont try extract it or anything
